1) Current USA Lacrosse Membership - must be a COACH membership and be valid through June 30, 2026

2) Register as a coach with Gainesville Youth Lacrosse (www.brigadelax.org)

3) Background Check Green Light - (This will done as part of your USA Lacrosse Membership as a Coach)

4) Concussion Course -  Through USA Lacrosse as part of your membership as a Coach.  

• This course must be completed after January 1, 2026.
• Upon completion, email your completion certificate to commissioner@brigadelax.org

5) NVYLL Code of Conduct (Register as a head or assistant coach and you will be asked to sign the Code of conduct when completing the registration. 

6) Current Certificaiton of Abuse Prevention training via US Lacrosse website   This should be completed as part of your USA Lacrosse membership as a Coach.  

7) Review Northern Virginia Youth Lacrosse League (NVYLL) Rules

8)  Boys' and girls' virtual rules interpretation on 22-Feb.  Start time will be posted when they become available. All Coaches must register and attend the appropriate presentation or view the recording below:

9) US Lacrosse Coach Certification: For the 2026 Season, NVYLL is requiring all Head and Assistant Coaches to completed their USA Lacrosse Bronze level coaching certification. The Bronze certification itself does not have a separate cost — it’s included as part of the annual coaching membership.  The course can be accessed via the USA Lacrosse website.
